The new exhibition subtitled Nature of the Jizera Mountains and the Frýdlant Region uses dioramas to show the most important natural phenomena of the Czech north.

Expozice představuje nejvýznamnější přírodní fenomény českého severu. Ledovcem modelovanou náhorní plošinu Jizerských hor, kde najdeme značné množství rašelinišť s unikátní severskou faunou a flórou.
Severní příkré svahy Jizerských hor, rozčleněné výraznými údolími a pokryté četnými žulovými balvany, bloky a skalami, které rovněž pomáhaly formovat severské ledovce.
Frýdlantský výběžek v severním podhůří Jizerských hor, kde se v pískovnách těží ledovcové sedimenty. Celým územím se proplétá říčka Smědá, která je na několika místech dosud neregulovaná a nabízí jedinečná stanoviště pro řadu druhů živočichů. Po celém výběžku je rozmístěno několik rybníků jako pozůstatek rybníkářského hospodářství v minulosti.
The exhibition shows the ice-moulded plateau of the Jizera Mountains, home to numerous peat bogs with unique fauna and flora typical for Northern Europe, as well as steep northern slopes of the Jizera Mountains, dissected by deep valleys and covered by numerous granite erratics, blocks of stone and rocks, which were also formed with the help of Nordic glaciers. Yet another diorama shows a pond that has become a substitute habitat to birds, amphibians, dragonflies and other insect species that used to live in now non-existent blind arms of rivers, giving evidence of the fish-farming history in the Frýdlant Region.
Several interactive exhibits allow visitors to learn about the items on display through play and to feel the atmosphere of the animal world using other senses (hearing, touch, smell). The interactive exhibition will also let visitors take a sneak peek into places that would have been very difficult to see in a standard exhibition (such as life in the soil underground).
